Surge Tank Solid State Pressure Switch

All Thermco gas mixers utilize a solid-state pressure switch for surge tank pressure control. This switch features a digital pressure readout, and a minimum life of 100 million cycles. Both the sensing element and the electrical switch are solid-state. For the great majority of gas mixers, this switch will last the lifetime of the gas mixer and never need replacement. The part number for the standard solid-state switch is SWTCHPRE-01.

Adoption of this switch is the result of years of testing by Thermco of numerous solid-state pressure switches. The switch has been extensively tested for accuracy, resistance to input voltage fluctuations, maintenance of accuracy over ambient temperature changes, and ease of use.

The SWTCHPRE-01 switch is a major advancement over mechanical pressure switches in gas mixers. Use of this switch virtually eliminates the most common cause of gas mixer failure. Higher reliability means fewer service calls and less down time.

The SWTCHPRE-01 has a large, easy-to-read LED display. The only materials in contact with the mixed gas are 304 stainless steel, ceramic and Viton®. The SWTCHPRE-01 is also oxygen cleanable.

Advantages of the solid-state pressure switch
  • Long life-in the great majority of cases, the
solid-state switch will never need replacement
  • Easy-to-read digital pressure readout-no
more interpretation of a moving needle on a
    mechanical pressure gauge
  • The setpoint is very stable, and should not
have to be adjusted over the life of the gas mixer
  • Diagnostics-a red light on the switch illuminates when the surge tank is filling
